This policy explains the cookies and similar storage that Restu Menu uses on restumenu.com, why, and for how long. You can change your choice anytime with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. "Local storage" is similar: it keeps small pieces of data on your device. We use both only as described here.
Your choices
When you first visit, we ask you to Accept all, Reject all or Customise. Necessary cookies are always on because the site cannot work without them. Analytics and marketing cookies are off until you switch them on. We keep your choice for 6 months, then ask again. If we add new tools, we ask again sooner.
We use Google Consent Mode: until you agree, Google tools are told not to store analytics or advertising cookies.
Necessary cookies
These are always on.
- NEXT_LOCALE — remembers the language you chose. Kept until you close your browser.
- site_currency — shows website prices in your currency (SAR in the Gulf, US dollars elsewhere), worked out from your country. Your country itself is not stored. Kept until you close your browser.
- rm_consent — remembers your cookie choice. Kept for 6 months.
- sb-…-auth-token (Supabase) — keeps restaurant owners and staff signed in. Kept until you sign out, and up to about a year.
- rm_ref — remembers the partner link that brought you to us, so the right partner is credited if you sign up. Kept for 60 days.
- Cart (local storage) — keeps a guest's cart on the menu page until the order is sent.
- Welcome tour (local storage) — remembers that a dashboard user closed the welcome tour.
Analytics cookies
Only used if you switch on Analytics. They show us how visitors use the website (pages viewed, clicks, device type) so we can improve it. They are loaded through Google Tag Manager.
- Google Analytics 4 (_ga, ga…) — counts visits and how the site is used. Kept for up to 2 years.
- Microsoft Clarity (_clck, _clsk, CLID and similar) — shows anonymised heatmaps and session recordings. Kept for up to 1 year.
Marketing cookies
Only used if you switch on Marketing. We do not use any marketing cookies yet. Before we add one (for example to measure ads), we will list it here and ask you again.
Where analytics runs
Analytics and marketing tools run only on our public website (home, features, pricing, blog and similar pages). They never run on restaurants' guest menus, order pages, the restaurant dashboard or our admin area, so they cannot see guests' or restaurants' data. Restaurants cannot add their own tracking tools to their Restu Menu menu.
How to control cookies
Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will then ask for your choice again.
